The most intensive attention many American parents give to their children is to ground them, to place them under house arrest, in order to make them familiar with their later careers as inmates behind bars and in their cells, or as working drones behind the walls of their cubicles and in their houses in the suburbs, or even as leading drones within their prestigious corner offices and their mansions in gated communities.
In any case grounding is many parents‘ best preparation to get their kids used to being confined to quarters.
So since things are different here in Central Europe in so many ways, there is no way to reach a common ground between the Central European reality and the all-American reality, not only when it comes to raising children.
